I sing and I play piano. I was learning guitar, but I am not worthy of the hot pink hippy guitar.

Just get a cheap acoustic guitar to learn on, or rent a guitar from a local store for a while.

oh yeah, one of those converters... lol. our battery is 5 basses, 4 snares and 2 tenors. but supposedly next year when I'm gone its supposed to get as big as yours... plus 1 tenor and minus the 2 cymbols I'm section leader in the pit. which is awesome, we have a huge pit of 17.

Do you guys compete?

A lot of insturments have similar fingerings. When i was in back at Clear Lake High School, Houston Texas there wa this kid named John Larson and he played trumpet(like me ) and he switced to Tuba and he seemed to be able to play it well. And he had only been on it for a few weeks or so.

^ yeah, but thats brass... they only have 3 or 4 valves and a total of about 8 fingerings. You got instruments like flute, sax, clarinet, oboe, etc that have over 20 keys. So I think its a little easier to go from brass to brass than wind to wind, but yeah, they're also a lot alike

That is true but not true. When i played trumpet we have 3 value, and way over 8 notes and we have to move out lips from tight to loose to reach different notes. Tighter the Higher.

The flute is kinda like that too. I envy the people who play keyboards and instruments where you don't have to bother about breathing or if you are able to reach the top notes!

I definately have played both a keyboard, flute and a brass instrument. The thing with keyboards is you usually have four or more notes going at once and parts are a lot harder and there's chord structures and algorythms and stuff like that... so keyboards are harder compared to flutes were you only have to hit one note at a time... and if you know how to play the instructment correctly you shouldn't have a problem.

I play the Piano and I’m learning to play the guitar; I’m trying to teach my self. It sounds more like noise than music at the moment.
