If you compress a picture it will reduce its MB size, it just downs the quality a little.

Hmm... I think you need photo editing software, like Photoshop or some sort of Adobe program. Inside that you would need to find the convert option, where you convert to a lower quality JPEG file. Can't help you more than that.
