Haven't you noticed that in mostly all the STAR TREK series but VOYAGER, all the ships have been named ENTERPRISE. I think it's getting annoying. I know the people that make the series has to think of a name that stands out not like the USS FRIENDSHIP, you have to have a name that can be used in this sentence which it always is--"We have to get back to VOYAGER----or the ENTERPRISE----or the FRIENDSHIP<-------(Doesn't Work) Which brings me to my question, What do you think the next name of the SHIP is Going to be in the next series?

I agree the names are getting a little dull but i'm not sure if i agree with the friendship. Though the name enterprise is a classic name so i'm not sure if they should get rid of it, even though it's a little old.

To answer your question, I think it's going to be unamed, unless if it's an important ship their going to name it StarShip Enterpise, or something like that.

I think so many ships were named Enterprise because each time one of the Enterprise ships was destroyed they would build another one. (ie. Enterprise was destroyed/got too old, Enterprise A was built....then Enterprise A was destroyed/got too old, Enterprise B was built...etc)

I like Enterprise and Voyager because they are generalised names unlike Freedom or Friendship.

Plus the ones suggested have to work well in certain dramatic and other wise sentences.

The Enterprise name never gets old.

The ship in the novel I just completed called "The New Unknown" is the USS Terradyne, a tip of the hat to a GMC concept truck from 2000. It is a Akira class ship.
