My real name is not relevant....especially because I was named after a soap opera character. I will start be admitting I am just breaking into this fandom. Been around it all my life because my dad is a huge fan but never committed to really sitting down and watching the series. I have yet to be disappointed with what I have seen (far from it).
Outside the walls of the net, I am a big theater and anime geek (a little sad, I know). I am currently majoring in creative writing and going on to get my mba, so I can work with arts nonprofits....or for Nintendo. My interests cross many of the genres. I enjoy getting to know you all.

Welcome to our little slice of craziness, STV.com. I'm one of "them older foxes" to coin Dappy's phrase. Usually I'll go by tomparis, but sometimes you'll see me referred to as Benjamin or Benny if you have a death wish. Again, like Dappy said, it's nice to see new members, and it's even nicer to see them take an interest in the RPG section of the forums. Hopefully we'll see you around for a good long while.

I look forward to getting to know people here to. I'll probably be taking it slow in the beginning, so I can get a feel for the place. No need to be going and saying something stupid before people know you.

Oh, don't worry about saying something stupid. Most of what all of us around here say is stupid.

I look forward to sticking around. It feels refreshing to find a fandom where everyone seems laid back and chill. I don't come across that too often.

Oh, there are a few of us who are complete nutcases. Do not, under any circumstances, insult William Shatner in either my, or Theresa's presence. Otherwise, you should be pretty safe.

Actually, it would be a good idea to avoid squiggy's presence all together. He's kind of creepy.

...Actually no, you are too entertaining. Besides, then I'd have to find a replacement for the hole in the stooges.

If I insult anything, it will not be anything to do with Star Trek. I find there is very little to insult there so far. However, anything pre-teen vampire related is not safe from me.

Have you solved the mystery Mr. (or Mrs. or Ms.) Polaris? Why IS Twilight such a popular freaking movie and whatever else because I have watched it...and I still don't get it!!! lol Assuming that's what you were referring to, if not...ummm...my bad lol!
Also...please consider this my late forum welcome...Welcome to STV friend...names are irrelevant (altho many of us here go by ours...silly us, no offense to you)...I too am a huge theater / anime geek...and Nintendo 'eh? Too bad I'm a diehard Sony fan lol, but still good choice with video games lol!

I was refering to Twilight. That series scares me like there is no tomorrow. I went to Comic Con International last year and I agreed to take a friend to the panel for the Twilight movie, not realizing what I was getting into. There was a couple thousand teenage girls in the room. The whole cast of the the movie was there, plus the author of the book. I am sure you can imagine what decibels that were broken by the volume of squealing in the room. A part of me died that day...and I am about to lose some respect probably. I read the books to see what the big deal was. The story is not that good. However, it is written so perfectly for the teenage audience. It is the perfect form of escapism for tweenies. Now the author has a band of loyal fans willing to throw acid in someones face if they insult the book (which really happened)...pardon the rant.
Anyways, I would actually be fine working for Sony as well. I just want to be out there working in an industry like that. I think I would just be happier, because of the types of people I will be surrounded with.

Hahaha...yes I can imagine the decibels that were broken in that room as last year I took my then girlfriend to a Jonas Brothers concert (there goes my respect, now we're even) so yea...I know exactly what you went through, lol!

OH MY GOODNESS! So I went to see Transformers today. (OK movie, not as good as I would have expected. Not the point here). Anywho, the trailer for the new Twilight movie comes up, and every single girl in the the theater practically screams. That was the scariest part of that preview.

Well, it was the first preview, so I'm convinced they did that to let all of the males hearing return. Luckily I had a buffer of guys around me, so I didn't have it as bad.

*Pulls out boombox and plays It's Raining Men*
Anywho, I'll agree with Polaris on this one. The whole vampire thing is getting to be a bit overdone, and now that their pandering to the teenage audience, it's only going to be out there more and more.

You know what would be an epic cage-match?
Blade or Van Helsing Vs. that shiny douchewad Cullen thing.
Or better!
Blade AND Van Helsing Vs. the shiny douchewad Cullen thing.
This must be done. To preserve the minds of young teenage women everywhere. Or they shall surely be lost.
lol

Hell, they could probably stick Lestat from Rice's novels on Cullen and he would be beat.
Seems I missed the best part of the conversation. Anyways, enough of this subject before my IQ drops. So was the Transformers movie worth going to at midnight?
