It would have been cool to see but seven to me is too by the book, instinct is not one of her strong points without that and charisma she would get in some trouble. but i stillwould have like to seen how she would handle it.

Well, technically she was in command of Voyager in "One." Yes, the Doctor was the ranking officer and was in charge of her, so he was in command, but when his emitter went offline because of the Nebula, she was the only one left and had to make the necessary course changes, and make the "command" decisions to run the ship...

Eh, I think she makes a better support character. I don't think a series that centered around her would be very interesting, not to mention the fact that she is too rational and robotic in the way she does things. She's a lot like Data, and I don't think a ship run by him would be much better either. You need a dynamic heroic captain. Seven is a great character and shipmate, but not really captain material. I do think she'd make a good first officer though .

"The Omega Directive." It was "efficient" for her needs. That was funny!

As far a I'm concerned the only people who rank lower than her on the command chain are the children. She is not in starfleet. That would be like if a captain of a Navy ship gave command to some terrorist who was converted into a non-terrorist (if that makes sense) and then became friends with everyone, so they let him command the boat.

think about it this way. she is senior b/c she is always in the briefing room and all the dats she assimilated would make her better than anyone

You've got a point...and in all technicality, Neelix is lower on the totem pole than Seven. He's just the cook. And "Ambassador" and self-appointed "Morale Officer."

I voted no because the crew would committ mutany if she became captain.
I think she would be way to bosy.

Are we talking about in the future or during VOY's trip through the Delta Quadrant?

Obviously she is captain material. She was the master in astrometrics- which was her job. If anyone was there working with her they had to be a subordinate- except maybe B'Ellana or Janeway. Must admit B'Ellana was the leader in engineering.
The reason this is ill advised is she would not leave her beliefs in assimilation. Seven was tested as a leader with the 'The Omega Directive' where she led a team to make a dampening chamber to tame the Omega molecule. She assigned everyone with a number(I think Harry was 3 of 5) and became very distraut if they did not work hard. She still didn't know how it is to be human.

I totally think she is captain material!
But first she will have to get some therapy for her time in the borg for a few years together with constant lessons about humanity, people and humanoids in general. Then 4 years in Starfleet academy to learn the rules of SF and the Federation. Then at least 8 to 10 years as an officer aboard a starship. Then she must take the Commanders/Captains course and test, serve as first officer for a couple of years. And then I will totally think she could... command... a.... well.... maybe .... a..... science vessel near earth... somewhere? .

The only good Captain on that ship is Janeway, and the Doctor makes an excellent stand in, as does Chakotay. Seven would never be able to handle all the crew quarrels.

Ok, so if I was a criminal for my whole life and then I became a good guy, I could just become the police chief because I knew the most about the streets? No, she would have to join starfleet and work her way up just like anyone else.

I agree with that totally... She is good, but she needs to work her way up in starfleet...

I just don't see any way to make seven in command make sense, interesting as it might be to see seven try to command.

Yep, I agree. That WAS Seven in command (which is why I decided not to vote on this) and it made a fantastic for a fantastic episode in my opinion!

May I point out, that was a very early episode for Seven, she learnt a lot after that and her character grew substantially in the following episodes and seasons. Perhaps in say, season 7, she may have handled that situation differently.
In my opinion, Seven was never Captain material, altho she was certainly closer to it by the end of season 7. I do however believe that she may eventually have matured enough to become Captain material! She certainly did a lot of growing up in Voyager, but still had a lot more to do. I think, eventually, she could have made a very fine high ranking officer.

I voted yes... just because i think it would be hilarious episode to watch. Like in omega when she's in chage of 10 people, and she gives them designation... and demotes Harry from 6 of 10 to 2 of 10
