Icons, avatars, whatever you want to call 'em

I just made a bunch and thought I'd post them on here.

I like all of them, I really like the colors. Some of them are hard to read though. Overall though they have a sense of mystery that is really interesting.

Most of the text is meant to be artistic, not readable. But I do try and make the words fit. I've actaully already forgotten what the fine print on "River" is...And the road says "the road less traveled". I was trying to think of a good quote or poem to put on it, but I couldn't think of one. Same for the moon.

So if any of you have a good idea for a quote to put on the moon or the road, I'm all ears! (or eyes if you want to be technical...)

Thank you for your comment

I like them, good job. What program did you use to make them?

In that case I love them! [sometimes people put on things they intend to be readable, but it isn't]

Thanks! I use a really crappy program (ArcSoft photo thingie...It came with my scanner). But the effects I'm using are pretty standard (layers, opacity, gaussian blur, saturation, contrast, sharpen)

5thhouse: Thanks

Thanks, that really means a lot

I'm installing GIMP on my machine the minute I can figure out how to get this damned x11 thing working on my machine - which is more of an issue with GIMP than anything else.

We'll see if I can afford CS2 come college. I'm one of those people who hates to pay any amount of money unless it's for the actual hardware

Gimp is a good starting place since it has most of the same basics as photoshops.

I finally got GIMP working on my computer, and I've been practicing making more icons

I have some Trek ones - but I haven't gotten around to uploading them.

Dr. Who:

My Pics:

Zim:

Miyazaki:

Firefly:

PotC:

You can use any of 'em if you want - just credit and don't hotlink. And some of the borders and masks I used were made by Absolute Trouble.

Trek ones soon, promise
