Every episode of Voyager was boring.

Just joking...only half of the episodes were boring.

I mean that. Too many VOY episodes were solely "technobabble" episodes...

Any episode where Chuckles was the main character sucked!

Hehe. Some of them are really corny, but I like most of them.

There were a lot of episodes in season 4-7 that almost bored me to death.

But those 5 episodes are definitely the worst and most annoying.

1. Fury (insulting and crappy)

2. The Gift (insulting and crappy)

3. Mortal Coil (terrible story)

4. Tsunkatse (silly)

5. Relativity (forging of history).

As for boring episodes, we got "Fair Haven", Spirit Folks and all episodes with the Borg kids involved

Agreed. VOY had no heart, just...babble.

Most boring? Definitly the 11:59 one. It was so pointless that it hurt. Yet again, VOY ignored the Eugenics wars...

Season One
(Mostly there might be one or two more that isnt here that i didnt like, yes these are all season ones that I though was boring)
Caretaker (just a tad to long, shorten it up some its a good ep)
Time and Again
Phage (Yawn, great potential though)
The Cloud (Dunno... good potential its just...blah)
Ex Post Facto (How easy is it to get captured if you serve on Voy? Very)
Emanations (This one...actually caused a religious crises for me....)
Prime Factors (Come on, in stead of getting it, why not ask for a push?)
Heroes and Demons (one of many that just bored me to tears. Pay attention friends, we see at lest one holodeck episode a season...plot line re use!)
Faces (meh...good potential just...meh)
Jetrel (this is actually the best out of the borings, not to bad, but the way some things were done....)
Learning Curve (Again... good potential but..."Get that cheese to sickbay"? Please )

I just kept watching it because I was sure there had to be something interesting that would end the episode. Too bad I was wrong.

I find those episodes very good and so much better than the crap they did shove on us in seasons 4-7.

Thats your opinion, what I wrote was mine. It also was not done on the judgement of a char being in the season or not.

PostTue Jun 20, 2006 12:57 pm    Boring VOY episode

There are almost NO boring VOY episodes. However, Learning Curve was kind of lame, and Retrospect was utterly ridiculous. Best episode: Equinox. Also I disagree with Voyager Fan- Message in a Bottle was one of the best! OK, it wasn't all that serious- but who could miss that scene with the EMHs on the Prometheus? Its good when something like Star Trek has a tad of comedy.

PostSat Jun 24, 2006 11:12 am    So many boring episodes ... which one to choose?

Ruuner-up has to be Threshold. Not only is this the second-worst Voyager episode ever, it's possibly the second-worst Star Trek episode ever.

No, wait ... it's possibly the second-worst episode of any television show ever made. nothing about this episode is good, absolutely nothing.

But the worst of all has to be Fair Haven. I hate holodeck episodes at the best of times. And here's why holodeck malfunction episodes suck ... it gives the writers a free hand to invent anything at all. Any past, any future or present they want. They can mess about with the characters, invent non-existent situations for them, put them in the wild west or Nazi Germany or a three-ring circus if they want. And it never makes for a good episode.

So how did putting the crew into 19th century ever sound like a good idea? A bit of technobabble, a sprinkling of some vague threat from neutrons, a pathetic sub-plot about Janeway getting "romantically involved" with a hologram for christ's sake and I stopped watching 20 minutes into this one.

Anyone who enjoyed this episode needs medication.

Honorable mention goes to that episode where Commander Deadweight finds the natives. I didn't even last 20 minutes with that one - but that was more due to me falling asleep. Fair Haven actually made me angry.

Do we all know that Threshold won an emmy?

Ya, I'm not moderator, but I know that shouldn't be said. Just for the mere fact that it offends me and, most likely, others in this forum. So please don't do it again...

And I did enjoy this episode, but I sure don't need medication. Just because you don't like "holodeck" centered episodes, doesn't mean that it's not a good one. You already have a biased opinion about this episode before it even took place. You clearly said so.

Quote:
I hate holodeck episodes

So no matter how good the episode was, you already hated it. So there's really no good argument about how YOU think this was a bad episode. I thought it was good episode. Took us out of the 24th century, and showed us how the crew all liked the idea of 19th century earth.

Also, "The Killing Game" was a great episode. Yet, it's a holodeck centered episode...And there's also "Bride of Chaotica." Another good episode that shows the versatile acting skill of Mulgrew. And sometimes you need holodeck episodes...just like they needed "Bride of Chaotica." Because, in case you didn't know, the whole reason for this episode was because the bridge set had caught fire and they were rebuilding it. So they needed something that didn't take place on the bridge a whole lot...

But anyway, holodeck episodes are good "getaways" from the usual plotlines and stories.

It was watchable hokum and the Rock is actually a big movie star now.

One of the better episodes from the fairly consistant Season Five, even though time travel was a very worn Voyager gimmick.

Can't argue with that (about the Irish village), but I don't think the Borg kids were that bad (despite the Wesley Crusher vibe).

PostSun Jul 02, 2006 5:35 pm    Re: boring holodeck episodes

Yes, it gives us a break from the usual run of the mill episodes. But here's why holodeck eps never work for me. And for christ's sake, please note that I said "FOR ME". I do not force my opinions onto other people.

1) Holodeck episodes are - almost without exception - a result of a total lack of imagination on the part of the writers.

Stuck for something to write about this week? I know, let's put the crew in occupied France during world war two. Too lazy to write a decent episode? Ok, just stick everyone into a poorly-scripted and unbelievable Irish village. Then MAKE IT MALFUNCTION and INVENT A HALF-ASS SUBPLOT ABOUT IT THREATENING THE SHIP. Lazy, lazy, lazy scriptwriting.

2) It removes my ability to suspend disbelief.

All sci-fi (in fact all fiction) relies on the willingness of the reader or viewer to suspend disbelief and be carried along with the story. Now I have no complaint about the existence of a starship and only a few complaints about the existence of a holodeck or a holographic person. But when I am expected to believe that these holograms are able to somehow malfunction and threaten the ship once a season my imagination is stretched way beyond breaking point and I am no longer swept along with the story. In short, I stop believing and become a cynic.
