The Federation Fifth Fleet(Nautolian War)



The Federation 5th Fleet was put together by Starfleet Command for the purpose of defending the Romulan neutral zone. Romulan/Federation relations degenerated when the Tal Shiar took control of Romulus. In addition, Nautolian ships would sometimes use the Neutral Zone to cross into Federation space. This fleet was Starfleet's response to both the Nautolians and the Romulans. It was created near the start of the Nautolian war and has not seen repairs for each ship or medical facilities for each crewmen since that time. It started off as 19 ships, but due to being unable to gain repairs, 5 ships were lost. Starfleet Command, corrupt, uncaring, incomptent, and stretched thin when it came to ships, saw no reason to move the fleet for additional repairs. This caused a monumental loss of life. With the fall of Romulus, the border was safe from the Romulan Star empire and with the Enterprise-E and a few others patrolling the Neutral Zone, the 5th Fleet was considered overkill and not properly used. Fleet admiral Ni diverted the fleet to Deep Space Guardian. Logically, this would be Fito's next stop as he sought to control all of Romulan space. Now, under control of commander Ian Xavier and led by captain Jonathan Archer, the 5th fleet defends DSG.

1) USS Latin (Saber class) (Destroyed)

Additional Information:

This nimble ship has been through a lot during the myriad of battles with the Nautolians and sometimes, even Romulans. It's sister ship, a member of the 5th fleet, was destroyed by a Nautolian vessel that caused a warp core breach. All hands were lost. Virtually the entire senior staff is dead, except for the captain and the chief engeer.

2) USS Munich (Centaur class)

Additional Information:

This vessel proved that Centaur class starships were tough and could hold their own. It managed to repel a Nautolian fighter squadron from the border. It's senior staff is intact, except for the chief science officer who was killed while helping to repair a conduit. Captain Schweitzer is a hardcore loyalist to Starfleet and does not blame them for their negligence.

3) USS Nagasaki (Akira class)

Additional Information:

It was one of the ships that was not in terrible condition. According to the engineer's estimates, it would take a day at most to fully repair. This vessel is captained by the careful and ever tactful Sovor. Due to his precise and accurate strategy, this ship has taken the less damage of the entire fleet. The entire senior staff is intact as well.

4) USS Kyoto (Akira class) (Destroyed)

Additional Information:

Unlike it's sister ship, the Nagasaki, it sustained heavy damage. This was due to the brutish nature of commander Ghaa. He had been acting captain for three months, since the captain was killed. Ghaa was barely able to restrain himself from tailing Nautolian vessels through the Romulan border and attack. His nature has cost the lives of over half of the crew. The senior staff, ever loyal to him, seek to work to stop his behavior.

5) USS Bailly (Nova class)

Additional Information:

This vessel was built for science, not war, but was used in the fleet. It's advanced sensors kept a check of the border 24 hours an Earth day. This ship took very little damage and all the senior staff are still alive, if not thinner from the rations they were forced to eat...

6) USS Discovery (Intrepid class) (Destroyed)

Additional Information:

Like the Bailey, this vessel was not built to fight. It was not as lucky as the Nova class starship however. The Discovery took heavy damage and most of the command staff was lost. The chief science and second officer, took command. Temporary fleet captain Archer ordered his officers, lieutenant commander Reed, lieutenants Smith, and Burroughs to assist with the command structure on the Discovery.

7) USS Cerberus (Prometheus class)

Additional Information:

This ship has seen some tough times. Due to the damage it took, it was unable to activate it's MVA for nearly a month. The senior staff is all alive, but shaken up.

8) USS Madras (Ambassador class)

Additional Information:

This ship was one of the hardest hit of the entire fleet. It was captained by Joanne Taylor, former flame of Ian Xavier. She was killed due to wounds that were not able to properly heal and Starfleet not permitting them to dock at a starbase. Commander Westmore, slightly bitter, is now in command.

9) USS San Antonio (Excelsior class)

This ship was in the worst condition of the entire fleet. Kiris and Bengali had to work overtime in an effort to repair this starship. The senior staff, despite the heavy damage the ship took, is completely intact. This ship is nearly done in repairs.

This ship and it's crew has seen it's fair share of battles. The Defiant class continues to prove it's strength in battle. The crew is relatively intact, but the captain's faith is shattered after the horror he's seen.

The massive starship showed it's power in battle and managed to destroy two Nautolian capitol ships at the same time. Cain is a distinguished englishman and is proud of his crew and ship. It is currently undergoing repairs.

Like the Milky Way, this ship exudes power. Unfortunately, it took heavy damage during it's patrols. The ship managed to survive but needs a rather large overhaul.

This is the "flagship" of the fleet. It's resolve and power was tested over and over, but the ship never failed. Sadly, the captain of the ship was killed and Emma Creed, commander and first officer, took control. When Jonathan Archer was given the rank of fleet captain, she gladly stepped aside. From this ship, Archer leads the fleet to protect DSG.

BIO: Caroline Marzuk was born in 2265 on the El-Aurian HomeWorld. Sadly, the year Caroline was born was the year that the Borg invaded the El-Aurian HomeWorld. Caroline, still an infant, managed to escape the planet, with the help of an elderly El-Aurian man. Sadly, her parents were lost during the invasion. For twenty-one years, Caroline lived with this El-Aurian man, along with several others, on a small moon in the El-Aurian system. However, when Caroline turned twenty-one, the elderly man who had saved her had died of sickness. Caroline took his death poorly. For the next two years, Caroline was only a shell of a woman. She mourned the loss of her "father". Caroline could always be seen, in the shadows, crying. However, after time, she had managed to get over his death. When Caroline was twenty-six, the SS Lakul found her and the other refugees. They were taken aboard. However, during the journey to the Sol System, the Lakul, along with the SS Robert Fox ran into the "Nexus". Amidst the confusion, Caroline was one of the few lucky ones (one of the forty-seven survivors out of one hundred and fifty passengers) who had managed to escape the Lakul before it was sucked into the Nexus, thanks to help from the U.S.S. Enterprise-B. After this traumatic event, Caroline traveled to Earth, to start a new life. On Earth, Caroline gained her Pilot's License (Level-5 pilot). Soon after, Caroline had came into the possession of a decrepit old Ferengi freighter, which she dubbed "Lady Luck". After she had fixed the freighter up, Caroline went into the shipping business. Caroline would transport anything. . Be it food, clothing, supplies, or even weapons, Caroline would ship it all. Despite all of her "questionable acts" in her time, Caroline has never been caught for her actions. Over one hundred years later, Caroline is still in the shipping/smuggling business. Caroline is both mischievous and beautiful. She uses both of these traits to her advantage in her wheelings and dealings.

Sakonna's parents disowned her because of this and she fled Vulcan, leaving behind the Vulcan people and Surak's teachings in the process. Sakonna found work on an Orion mercenary ship. However, when the ship had been attacked by a rival mercenary/smuggling ship, the Lady Luck, most of the crew had been killed. The Lady Luck and Sakonna's ship were desperate to find work and were racing to reach a new shipment of beetle snuff on Ferenginar, which had resulted in the firefight. Sakonna and another crew member of the Orion mercenary ship, a future crew member aboard the Lady Luck, Harrad-Sar, were spared and given jobs aboard the Lady Luck. Sakonna and Captain Marzuk became fast friends and continue to be friends to this day. Sakonna is unsure of what kind of feelings she holds for the Captain, however. Still, despite their troubled beginnings, Sakonna is as loyal as anyone to the El-Aurian Captain.

Pran has been aboard the Lady Luck longer than anyone else (anyone that's still alive, anyways), besides Captain Marzuk, herself, who had encountered him on the edge of Romulan space, many years prior, during an illegal smuggling run. The Breen had agreed to help her, after she had lost one of her men, in an encounter with a Romulan Warbird. Since, then, he has been the Armory Officer. Still, Caroline has always been wary of the Breen and his mysterious past.

However, after the Klingon-Cardassian War, Shi'Vang fled the military, in disgrace, after his ship, which he had served as the tactical officer aboard, had been attacked by a rogue Klingon Bird of Prey, now known to have been commanded by the nefarious Gul Dukat. Shi'Vang had survived the attack, while his Captain and many others did not. He fled the Empire, off to find work, anyway he could, but, away from the Klingon Empire. After working a few odd jobs, he was picked up by Captain Marzuk who made him the tactical officer, because of his experience in the military. Shi'Vang's dishonor for fleeing the Empire haunts him to this day, however, he still believes it to be the right choice.

However, when Galon's operation was busted by the Federation, Kazago was forced to spend some time in a Federation prison. When he was finally released, about seven years later, he decided to leave the weapons business behind him. Too dangerous. Instead, he was picked up by Captain Marzuk, who made him the helm officer, because of his travels across the galaxy, with Galon and his other many odd jobs. A jack of all trades, Kazago is. However, he's not the best businessman in the galaxy.

Captain Marzuk accepted the two; the father and daughter, however, had been wary of the crazy doctor, ever since. Still, he is an exceptionally skilled doctor, which is why she keeps him around. If it weren't for his skills, he would chuck him out of the airlock. Genetic-engineering spooked her. Crazy genetics doctors spooked her.

She was a genius, however, her social skills were terribly lacking. She also was deeply emotionally disturbed, due to the hacked operation, given to her at birth. She's very shy, reserved, and, paranoid, of all things. Because of her skills with her hands, enhanced by the genetic engineering, she was given the role of the engineer aboard the Lady Luck, despite being so young, after her and her father escaped the planet that they had been staying on, one of the many that they had stayed on, across the galaxy, before the others found out about her "Augment" status and would chase them away, calling her a freak and her father a madman. She had always respected and loved her father, despite what others thought.
