They both are. But it was Beverly who was origionally meant to be the "Sexy" one, but most people think of it as the other way around.

LOL, I think they both looked much prettier with the hairstyles they had in the later seasons. I read somewhere that Gates McFadden wore wigs until toward the end of the show.
