				 Mon Jun 10, 2002 7:18 pm    Lets talk about Q for a minute |

  |

Okay I'm new to Star trek and all. But from What I understand the Q character from both TOS and Voyager is suppose to be a being that has existed since like forever. So now does that mean that Q could make quest appeareance on Enterprise?

Yes, the Q could easily make an appearence on Enterprise. although it is still up in the air as to if Trelaine from TOS, was really a Q.

I think the first time they really confirmed that they met a Q was in "Encounter At Farpoint" [TNG], but he could show up and they wouldn't know who he was (like the Ferengi).

I think you are stretching it a little there,if the Q had visited any species prior to the Encounter at Farpoint, they would have most likely stated who they were.

But then what would be the point. Remember, there are many Q, and there could be one serving on Enterprise now, but you wouldn't know. They can't know who Q is till Encounter at FarPoint, and if they don't know, it's not very entertaining.

yes, there are so many Q, remember the episode when the Q are in a civa war, and all those Q, but the best Q is John (can't spell his last name

It's also possible, that at the time of Kirk or even prior, the Q had not finished developing into their Next Generation selves. If you look at how they act, and how quickly the Q begin to fight each other, they are still fairly new to their very powerful selves. That would explain why Riker was sought to be a Q, if they existed for as long as they claim, they would have already had the experiences that Riker could give them.

The Q couldn't easily make an appearance on Enterprise. The Q was first encountered in TNG, and if they show up on Enterprise, which takes place before TNG, then they totally kill the timeline they've pre-established.

Considering the powers of the Q, they could easily travel to any of the Enterprise's. I also undesrtand that they wouldn't because it would screw up the timeline, which in my opinion the new show, is doing just fine by itself.

I just read a book called Q-squared and it talks about Trelane and Q. I dont think Trelane is really a Q Because they wouldnt his names be "Q"?? Strange... Anyways in the book all of the time lines are alll messed up... Q from the future could accually go back in time into the Enterprise time line and change history!

I liked Thomas' idea--I don't know that much about Q other than what I saw in "Encounter at Farpoint," but I think it would be interesting for the Enterprise crew to meet them and then have to put together who they really were.
